In our efforts to reduce diabetic foot complications for our patients and our community, Dr. Sowell has developed a more organized approach to diabetic foot examination.  This will allow for better communication with physicians on a patient’s team and will make foot care simpler for our diabetic patients. If you are diabetic…please make sure you are getting a thorough foot exam each year and caring for your feet as instructed.  If you know someone who is diabetic, please talk to them about the need sfoot proper diabetic foot risk assessment.  We would love to help in any way we can!  Also,  while supplies last,  Sowell Podiatry is giving away a free pair diabetic socks to every patient who comes into our office for a diabetic foot exam!

We desire to improve continuously and seek input from our customers to help us.

Without patients Sowell Podiatry would have little to do!  We want to constantly improve the quality of our care and the quality of our services.  In this effort, we review our processes and procedures to find ways to better serve our patients.  However, the fresh eyes of our patients often see areas where we could improve.  Please do us the honor of telling us where improvement could be achieved and we will work hard to reach the level of care you are requesting.  All comments are appreciated.  Thank you for choosing Sowell Podiatry for the important task of caring for your feet!

We provide a clean and comfortable office environment where all instruments are stored and sterilized appropriately.

We strive to provide a clean comfortable office for our patients.  Current magazines, comfortable chairs and warm décor are just the beginning.  If you feel you need something, please feel free to ask the staff and we will do our best.  We follow industry standards concerning sterilization and instrument packaging while providing our friendly podiatric services.  We use an autoclave.

We are available to our patients in their time of need, even if it is after hours.

We care about our patients and want to available to them around the clock.  Podiatry does not have many “emergencies” and therefore allows us to be fairly open with our contact information.  We trust our patients to use wisdom when deciding if they are experiencing an emergency and whether Dr. Sowell will be able to help them. During regular office hours, the phones are covered (even during lunch) and after hours there is an answering machine that will record messages that are not of an emergent nature.  However, at the end of the answering machine Dr. Sowell’s cell phone number (936-552-1741) is given in case you need to reach him.  Also, he is on staff at most area hospitals and can be reached by simply asking staff to contact him.  Post-operative instructions also have his cell phone number on them.  We also answer email questions from our website and blog if you have a special question or concern that is not an emergency or does not require an office visit.

We respect our patient’s privacy in all ways.

Sowell Podiatry makes every effort to comply with HIPPA standards.  We feel it is important to gain our patients trust by protecting their privacy for them.  Patients determine how their information is used and we follow their wishes concerning communication about them in the offices and when communicating with other offices and facilities.
